Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Herbalist and Apothecary Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing our apothecary, managing herbal inventory, conducting consultations with patients, and providing expert guidance on herbal remedies and treatments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the apothecary, including filling herbal orders, managing inventory, medicine making, ordering, communicating with patients, maintaining accurate patient records, invoicing, and general maintenance of the clinic and apothecary space.

• Conduct consultations with patients to assess their health concerns and recommend suitable herbal treatments and remedies.

• Develop customized treatment plans based on individual patient needs and health conditions.

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to integrate herbal remedies with other medical treatments where applicable.

• Stay updated on the latest research and developments in herbal medicine and integrate this knowledge into practice.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Herbal Medicine

• Experience as a Medical Herbalist or in a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of herbal remedies, their applications, and interactions.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for patient consultations.

• Ability to manage an apothecary and maintain inventory.

• Experience with formulating, compounding and dispensary procedures

• Attention to detail & time management skills

• Understanding of regulatory and ethical standards in herbal medicine practice and the importance of maintaining client confidentiality.

• Located in the Cowichan Valley with reliable transportation.

Time Commitment:

The hours of the position will vary each week, depending upon the number of clients and orders there are each week. An approximate week may look like:

• 10 - 20 hours per week filling orders / inventory / medicine making in the Apothecary

• 10 - 30 hours per week seeing patients

Wage:

Clinical 1:1 patient work...

Initial Intake ($140 / 90 minutes)

Follow-up ($85 / 60 minutes)

Follow-up / Acute ($50 / 30minutes)

$20/hour working in the Apothecary
